Salonkita was founded by Hertauli R. Harianja. It started with concern about the fate of women, especially Indonesian female workers abroad. In 2013, "Zoe Salon" was founded in Medan City to employ women who came from villages to try their luck in the provincial capital. In 2017, "Zoe Beauty School" began to operate in response to the large number of women who come from underprivileged families and do not have education or work.
After graduating from Zoe Beauty School, they were then employed on the salonkita platform. The pandemic in 2020 had a serious impact on tourism businesses, especially salons, this is proven by the number of salon businesses that have closed, this is because salon owners generally still manage their businesses conventionally so they are unable to adapt to the "new normal". Salonkita.id was developed to help salon business owners to go digital. and of course makes it easier for customers to find a salon that suits their individual needs
